New Booklets - Cubs Record Book & OAS Progression Booklet

July 27, 2018, 6:47 pm

Special Interest Area (SIA) Badges can be done as an individual or in a group(Patrol). These can be done at home as previously done for the Achievement badges or as a special Cub Project/Patrol. The achievement of a cub SIA badge in Cubs is only recongnised in the Cub section although each section allows Scouts to earn SIA badges within their section.

Outdoor Adventure Skills are skill levels recognised in stages. These skills are expanded on throughout the scouting journey through each section. Thus any stages achieved in the Cub section are recognised by all sections.
Outdoor Adventure Skills can be assessed in a two-down manner by other Scouts or a recognised expert in that area. For example where practicable a Scout with a OAS Stage 4 in particular area can assess a Scout for a Stage 2 in that same area. Scouts need to maintain their log books & verification table for each stage as evidence and to document their journey. Below are scans of some of the pages from the Outdoor Adventure Skills booklets. Generally Cubs fall somewhere between stage 1 to 3 in Outdoor Adventure Skills areas, so below are scans those particular pages from their booklets.
